This is one of a dozen dresses from a single owner collection of beautiful 1930s dresses and I am very pleased to have this small capsule for you. Her collection was lovingly sourced over decades and she has decided that it is time let them back out into the world for others to enjoy. Outstanding designs from this era are increasingly hard to find. Her collection represents some of the best of the era that I have seen in a very long time. Most are in excellent condition and the few included in the capsule that do have some flaws are such outstanding designs that I feel there is still room for someone to love them and wear them as they are, or perhaps to put in the additional work to repair them. This is just a tiny sampling of her overall collection and I hope to have another series of these capsules in the future. Enjoy this first drop.

This is the most flawed of the dozen dresses I have for this capsule today. It's such an unusual and beautiful dress that I've decided to offer it as-is in the hopes that someone can wear it as it is or be able to fix it. It's a beautiful dress and the fabrics are stunning. The main fabric of the dress is a bias cut silk that has this deep brown burgundy colour to it. This then has stripes that feel like a chenille fused directly onto the silk. The stripes and where they meet at the seams help to form a pattern over the dress and add detail. It is completely cut on the bias. This is another of the dresses that I think you could wear either way around and I shot it both ways. One side has a deeper drape than the other and it works equally well depending whether you wear that to the back or the front to give you two different looks. The sleeves are incredible. They are these huge round balloon sleeves made out of a pale golden metallic lame silk. The very ends of each one is made from the same fabric as the body of the dress. Underneath the sleeves there is damage and the lame has shattered in places. The dress is too beautiful to just dispose of and I've put it at such a low price that I'm hoping someone can love it and perhaps just add reinforcements to the places that have shattered and be able to wear it still. Other than the shattered areas under the arms the rest the dress is still in great overall condition with some small notes below.

Unlined and slips on to wear with buttons at the neck as described above. All the inner seams are finished by hand. I see a small repair on the top of each shoulder and some minor fading at the very top of the shoulders. Under one of them the silk has shattered in a couple of areas but it's stable around those areas. There's slight discolouration under both arms. The bias should allow it to fit a range of sizes.
