White Fin Tetra

White Fin Tetra (Hyphessobrycon bentosi) is a rosy-pink to flesh-toned tetra with distinctive white-edged fins — particularly the dorsal fin of males which develops into a tall, flowing white-edged structure. Similar to but distinct from H. ornatus; the two are sometimes confused in the trade.

Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.

Native to the Amazon basin — soft to moderately soft water. Closely related to H. ornatus.

Keep in groups of at least 8. The white fin edges are most dramatic in mature males with full fin development. Peaceful community tetra.
